This one took me a minute.

I kept almost making a different version of it.

There was one that leaned more jR&B, one that went harder on Y2K J-pop, one that was probably a little too glossy, and one that felt a little too packed with songs I just did not want to cut. That was kind of the whole problem. I liked too many directions for it.

So most of making this was really just trying not to add too much and ruin the version I liked most.

I think I got there though. It still has the shine I wanted, still feels like nighttime, still has that train window, city light, ride home kind of feeling to it, but it feels more like a real set now and less like me throwing everything I like into one place.

I knew I wanted to land on , but getting there without forcing it was harder than I expected. , , and lock it in pretty fast. After that, most of the work was in the middle. I kept coming back to that section over and over to get the balance right so it could gradually open up into something brighter and stronger by the end. Once that finally clicked, the whole back half made sense.

I definitely could have made this playlist bigger, and honestly more self-indulgent, but I feel pretty good about this final version.
